Strobist is a great photo resource site, full of tips, tricks and techniques, and it was trough that site, that I found about cheap wireless remote flash trigger. It is a PT-04 made in China, sold by qiqiwo on eBay. They are cheap, come in different packages, and most of all, they work. I bought the ones that also have a hot-shoe trigger (in addition to PC sync cord trigger), so I can trigger my cheap bulb (with PC trigger) and my Sigma flash with hot-shoe wireless trigger. Thanks to that, images like these are possible. They work with my Canon 30D and my Sigma 500 Super flash unit. Sigma must be put in the optical slave mode, to work though — I was too lazy to read the manual, so thanks to this blog post, I was able to “configure” the system so that I works (at first, I was disappointed, since this trigger does not trigger the Sigma flash (in normal ETTL mode or in manual mode (which I thought it would)). I paid 25 EUR for this (and got a PC sync cable and two batteries in the package) + 10 EUR for shipping. Unfortunately, the eBay seller had written it will ship from Helsinki, but instead, they shipped from China (meaning additional customs costs for me (14 €)).
