I attached a Sandisk ImageMate USB card reader into a notebook running Vista, and found out, that Vista could not find drivers for it. Vista said it “can’t find drivers” The USB reader works great on my Windows XP Professional, but not on Vista. So I searched the web, newsgroups and of course Sandisk support center. Nothing helpful. Amazon comments were encouraging as only one poster (the last one
) had problems. So, I thought there must be a way.
I figured I can upgrade the firmware of the reader. I did so on a XP box, insert it again into Vista box e voila! It works! I only tested it with a CF card, but hey, it’s a start! I can see all four drives in explorer.
UPDATE: I received a response from Sandisk support and I am pasting it here:

It takes about 12 hours to receive the file, and the file is password protected, so you must download and extract the file from Microsoft’s website within 7 days.
