This is program to aid web developers, system administrators and others by measuring HTTP trafic. It can measure the whole http session or just on http page. It uses Mentalis HttpProxy class to act as a HTTP proxy for your browser.
The program acts as proxy and thus intercepts all request from the client browser. The browser has to be configured in a way that it sends all request through this proxy. (IE users: Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections tab and click LAN settings. Mozilla users go to Edit->Preferences->Advanced -> Proxies and click Manual configuration) Now you can set your proxy server and port. If you run MeasuringHttpProxy on the same machine, enter localhost as the proxy server. If you left the default value for port, it is 82.
You can start a proxy by pressing Start proxy button. It will automatically begin with measurment as well. When you stop your proxy server, the measurment will not stop automatically. You must stop it yourself in order to see how much data was transferred. Alternatively, you can stop the measurment between proxy operation and start it with different description.
To see how big is this page launch the program. Make sure you are not running other programs on a port specified in the program (the default value is 82).
